Shuli Sandler is a clinical psychologist licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. Her areas of specialty include working with the full age range of children from toddlerhood through adolescence. She passionately believes in working with parents to maximize children’s success and progress in therapy. To that end, she does extensive parenting and family work in conjunction with child therapy and independently as well. She also works with young adults that appear to get “stuck” as they attempt to establish independence as adults in their own right. She does work with couples as well who struggle to negotiate conflicts and find resolution and happiness in their relationship. She has experience diagnosing and treating anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, Asperger’s, and academic difficulties. She has been working in private practice for the past 12 years.

Dr. Sandler received her Psy.D. (Doctorate in Psychology) from Long Island University, Post Campus. Her training experiences include working in Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, and the clinic of Long Island University. She completed her dissertation on the improvement in social cognition in a group of adolescents with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Dr. Sandler is a psychoanalyst and received her certification to practice psychoanalysis from New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. There she was trained in psychoanalytic assessment and formulation, dream interpretation, and an understanding and analysis of personalities, conflicts, and individual developmental stages. She received broad training in psychoanalytic principles and theories.
